Joe Granado

Mr. Granado is a lifelong Chandler resident, Chandler High graduate, and an Air Force veteran (161st Air National Guard). He is married with seven children and is active in the Knights of Columbus and American Legion. He owns Uni-Tech Mechanical, a construction and HVAC company he has run for nearly 30 years, and teaches Construction Management at ASU.

He tries to present himself as a “common sense conservative” focused on strong support for police and fire, balanced growth, and infrastructure upgrades. However, he has stated that it may be unpopular, but the city may have to raise taxes to complete necessary infrastructure repairs.

A notable part of his background is that he served as Chairman of the “Keep Chandler Term Limits” PAC and was the leading public advocate for Proposition 410 in November 2025. The measure was promoted as protecting term limits but effectively loosened them — directly enabling current Councilmember Matt Orlando to run for Mayor. Interestingly, despite Granado’s central role, Matt Orlando has not endorsed him, but he has endorsed others. When asked why he was the public face of the PAC, he stated that people who wanted to remain in the background asked him to lead it. This has raised questions about transparency and why certain individuals preferred to stay unassociated with the effort. He was asked by a prominent precinct committeeman  about misleading “Yes on 410” signs that implied voters needed to approve the proposition to have term limits at all.
While Granado has earned a few personal endorsements from local business owners and residents, he currently lacks major organizational support. It appears the people in the background who asked him to lead the effort — and even Matt Orlando — have since abandoned him.

With minimal endorsements, a willingness to raise taxes for infrastructure, and his central role in the controversial Prop 410 effort — including questions about who was really behind it — Joe Granado is a long shot in this race. We recommend voters not waste their vote on him.
